How much does Inter Milan really miss Jose Mourinho?

Inter Milan suffered yet another setback today as they lost to Lazio and slipped to 6th place in the Italian Serie A.  This marks their 4th loss in 15 league matches.  This equals the total number of losses they had ALL last season in the Serie A.  Their personell has not changed, but they seem to have lost that special aura that they had last season.  It is not always easy to adjust to a new coach, in this case Rafa Benitez, but Inter have plenty of veteran players that have been around the block a few times and should be able to cope with it.  They don't look as if they are willing to give it everything like they did last May against Barcelona in the Champions League semifinal, and the entire last season for that matter. This begs the question:  How special is Jose Mourinho?

José Mourinho - Made in Portugal: the official biography by Luis LourençoMourinho might have experienced one of the worst losses in his coaching career earlier this week to Barcelona, but one league game does not decide the season.  It is only December, and Real Madrid already have shown a wealth of promise compared to the previous season.  They have won their Champions League group and are only 2 points behind Barcelona in La Liga.  He has only lost one match so far, and he still has that special aura that he seems to carry everywhere he goes, from Portugal to London, London to Milan, and now from Milan to Madrid.

He makes his players feel special and no matter the stage, he is able to take the pressure off of them and put it all on himself.  He thrives on it.  His ability to motivate his players is unparalleled, and has proven to be the most brilliant psychological coach there is today.  Every team he has coached develops this mental toughness and swagger.  His mentality and personality rubs off on his players and they expect to win every time they step on the field.  They want to win it for their coach, the man they call "The Special One."

Wesley Sneijder put it best:  "When I got back [from vacation], I was prepared to kill and die for him.”
