1. Celebrating with Porto at Old Trafford. In 2004, Porto defeated Manchester United in the first leg 2-1 of the first knockout stage in the Champions League. Despite the remarkable win, no one expected Mourinho and his men to advance to the second round. Forgive them…they had no idea that he was the “Special One” yet. With United in the driver’s seat leading 1-0 at Old Trafford, Porto shockingly tied it up with a Costinha goal that sent them through to the next round. More impressive than the goal was Mourhino’s celebration, as he sprinted down the sideline like a mad man, joining his team, and celebrating the goal as if he had scored it himself. The "Special One" had arrived.
2. “I am not one of the bottle. I think I am a Special One.” These were his famous words when he arrived at Chelsea fresh off his victory with Porto. They weren’t just words. He went on to win two consecutive Premier League titles. Stamford Bridge fell in love the "Special One.”
3. Celebrating at the Nou Camp in 2010. After defeating Barcelona 3-1 in the first leg of the Champions League semifinal, Inter was still the underdog going into the Nou Camp for the second leg. To make things worse, Inter received a red card early in the game. The 10 men, led by Mourinho, somehow survived the evening, losing only 1-0 to the most talented team in the world. When the final whistle was blown, Mourinho, similar to his victory at Old Trafford, sprinted onto another famous field in celebration. The unsporting behavior of the Barcelona players did not stop him from expressing his happiness. Didn't they know?! He's the "Special One!"
