Some might call it the "El Clasico" of the English Premier League, and a classic it will be. The title race is as close as it has ever been in the last few seasons, and both Manchester United and Arsenal are at the top of their games. Arsenal took over first place last weekend, and will be looking to separate themselves from the pack. However, their time at the top might be short-lived as they will have to travel to Old Trafford on Monday to face their fiercest rivals.
Both teams are now healthy for the most part. Robin Van Persie is back for the Gunners, and Wayne Rooney has been improving his form for the Red Devils. Unfortunately, Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas will miss out on this clash of titans with a hamstring injury, but Arsenal have been able to cope with the loss of key players this season and proven that their depth has improved compared to the last couple of years. Manchester United have looked incredibly strong on their home ground and have not lost a league game yet. It will surely be another classic match in the history of this heated rivalry.
Here are some highlights of classic matches between the two:
In 2005, Manchester United come back to win at Highbury 4-2...
Thierry Henry scored the "Goal of the Year" to beat Manchester United in this one...
...and another big-time goal from Henry to beat the Red Devils...
Owen Hargreaves' fantastic free-kick beat the Gunners back in 2008...
In 2008, they battled to a dramatic 2-2 draw...
